Outreach & Mission
Every community of believers is called to reach out with the love and message of
Christ both to those around them and to the ends of the earth—in fact, this is the
purpose of our earthly lives. Because we believe that every Christian is called to
this, and to make it as easy as possible for everyone to participate, the primary
way that we reach out as a church is through our home groups. Each home group
“adopts” a local ministry to support, and seeks for ways to come alongside them
as a group. These range from a food bank to a crisis pregnancy center to a
university campus ministry.
Likewise, each home group acts as a support base for one of the missionaries we
support as a church. Calvary has several such missionaries in
locations around the world, and we view our partnership with them as a vital element
of their ministry—they are an extended part of our family and represent Christ
for us in places where we cannot. In addition, we have in the past sponsored a
summer mission trip as a church (partnering with one of our missionaries)
and look forward to more such mission outreaches in the future.
